Conrad Bangkok Review

The Conrad Bangkok is situated along Witthayu Road also called Wireless Road on the same strip where the Embassy of the United States and Embassy of the United Kingdom are located.

Booked directly on the official Hilton website, this 5-star hotel is good value based on the service standards and location.

The hotel is part of the All Seasons Place multi-use complex where there are upscale residences, offices and a retail shopping mall.

When arriving by car, there is a separate driveway for hotel guests that leads directly to the Conrad Bangkok main entrance.

Alternatively, it is approximately a 10-minute walk from Ploenchit BTS station if you’re arriving by foot. You will enter Conrad Bangkok from the shopping mall of All Seasons Place. Look for the UOB ATMs and you will see the mall entrance to the Conrad Bangkok.

The Conrad Bangkok is actively going through renovations. hilton.com still shows pre-renovated rooms (right side) in inventory. If you can choose which room to book, a renovated room is recommended.

Upon driving up to Conrad Bangkok’s main entrance, the staff came over to the car to help unload luggage. They did a full inspection of the car to ensure nothing was left behind in the car.

On a Saturday at 12PM, the lobby was very quiet.

Check-In

The front desk staff actively engages people in line to prepare their check-in process.

Hilton Honors Diamond members who were waiting in line were escorted up to the Executive Lounge where they able to check-in at an exclusive check-in area.

The check-in procedures in the Executive Lounge was to have a seat, order a drink and relax. The staff takes your passport and deposit method then comes back in a few minutes with your keys and welcome letter.

Per the welcome letter, Hilton Honors Diamond members are entitled to the Executive Lounge on the 29th floor with the following:

  • Breakfast: 6AM – 10:30AM Monday to Friday and to 11:00AM Weekends and Holidays
  • Afternoon Tea: 2PM – 4PM
  • Evening Cocktails and Hor D’oeuvres: 5:30PM – 7:30PM

Room

Guestrooms were located from the 15th to 32nd floor. I booked the Premium King room and was upgraded to an Executive King room measuring 41sqm. A short entryway leads into the room with floor to ceiling windows with a northeastern view of Bangkok.

The renovated room gave the room a modern look and was greeted with plenty of natural light.

The room was large enough to include a circular desk and a comfortable and spacious seating area with a table big enough for dining.

Plenty of universal power outlets were located throughout the room. There were USB and HDMI connections which made it easy to connect a laptop to the TV for work or entertainment.

The luxurious king-size bed had high quality bedding providing a good night’s sleep every night. Pillows were provided in different sizes and different levels of firmness. They were fantastic and provided excellent neck support. Additional pillows are available with the request to housekeeping. The nightstands had universal power outlets, USB outlets and blind and lighting controls.

In general, the room was big and the renovation gave it a contemporary look. It has all the conveniences a traveler would need.

It was apparent that the bathrooms were not fully renovated like the rest of the room. It was a dark themed standard bathroom with a separate shower that was good in size and had good water pressure. The shower comes with both a rain shower head and a handheld one.

Renovated rooms have toilets with TOTO washlets.

There was an assortment of amenities provided.

Afternoon Tea

When you enter the Executive Lounge during the afternoon tea service, you will be greeted by an attendant with a selection of soft drinks, coffee, tea, fruit and light snacks.

All the items including the drinks are self served.

The afternoon tea spread provides a good spread selection as a light snack.

The Executive Lounge takes up half of the 29th floor with views of the nearby area.

The Executive Lounge during afternoon tea is a relaxing and an alternative place if you want to get out of your room for a change of scenery.

Gym

The gym is located on the 7th floor and is called BODYWORX. It served as a hotel gym as well as a gym that can be accessed with a membership by the public.

As expected at a large 5-star hotel, the gym was big with modern equipment. All equipment and stations were well maintained.

Pool

The pool was a large outdoor, temperature regulated pool. One of the best hotel pools in the city.

Tennis Courts

Tennis courts were available for booking if you can handle playing a match in the Bangkok heat.

Evening Cocktails and Hor D’oeuvres

A variety of food is served along with free flow wine, beer and cocktails. The selection of food differ daily.

The food is served buffet style and guests can help themselves. The food offerings were good and can be had in place of dinner. On this day, the food served were Thai BBQ chicken salad, fried shrimp rolls and vegetarian potstickers.

Breakfast

Breakfast is also served at the Executive Lounge offered to Hilton Honors Diamond members. The food selection is small but still a good variety.

You have a buffet with a selection of hot items such as sausages, potatoes and bacon. Local items of chicken curry, rice and lentils. Freshly baked pastries, fresh fruits, a continental selection of cold cuts including smoked salmon, yogurt, cheese, salads and cereals. Coffee, juice and milk. There is a station for noodles and custom made eggs.

In addition to the breakfast buffet you can order from the A La Carte menu. The menu had a variety of eggs, Thai dishes and Dim Sum. A good menu with made-to-order items.

Breakfast in the lounge offers a more exclusive environment than the restaurant. The service is much more attentive in the Executive Lounge.

The Conrad Bangkok is perhaps the Hilton branded hotel in Bangkok that offers the best value for your money. The hotel offers a fantastic Executive Lounge, first-rate service in a good location and lives up to its 5 star rating.

The property’s renovated rooms are modern and adds value to the hotel. The large rooms at Conrad Bangkok makes a comfortable stay. Booking a room with Executive Lounge access is highly recommended.
