Opened in 2020 within a 5-minute walk from Namba Station, the Citadines Namba Osaka is a solid choice hotel when staying in the Namba area of Osaka.
Previously a department store built in 1928, the building was the largest department store in Japan. The building underwent a complete renovation in 2020 which included the 313-room Citadines Namba Osaka.
The hotel was very easy to locate. After leaving Namba Station, walk east on Nansan dori Ave until you see the hotel on your right.
Many design components such as stone pillars and original arches are still intact.
The lobby displayed a modern look with a classic style.
Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The check-in process took about 5 minutes.
Antique style analog dial elevator floor indicators represent the originals from pre-renovation.
Wide corridors made it easy to transport luggage to your room.
Guestrooms were large when comparing to Japan hotel room size standards.
With guestrooms at a size of about 300sf, there was room for a couch.
Each guestroom was equipped with a humidifier/dehumidifier machine.
Each guestroom had a microwave, well-laid out cutlery, mugs, drinking glasses and plates.
The safety box nicely placed in a drawer.
An adequate bathroom included toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and bodywash.
The Residents’ Lounge on the 6th floor was a large room available to guests which included kitchen and dining utensils.
A coffee machine, toaster oven and microwave oven is available for guests at any time.
Also in the Residents’ Lounge was a beverage vending machine and ice machine.
A basics fitness room included light weights and several cardio machines.
Laundry machines for washing and drying clothes available on the 5th floor.
Two desktop computer and a printer were available for guest use in the lobby. No extra charges for usage.
Conclusion
The Citadines Namba Osaka was clean, new, spacious and has a great team working there. The housekeeping was excellent and the location was perfect with many nearby eateries and convenience stores. The hotel is highly recommended and will definitely stay here again in the future.
